Assessment and Research Department
The Senior Exit Survey, undertaken by the Washtenaw Intermediate School District (WISD), is a survey of the experiences and plans of the graduating seniors from the public high schools in Washtenaw County.

The Data for Student Success project is funded by a Federal Title II Part D grant and is lead by Calhoun ISD in partnership with the Michigan Department of Education and CEPI. The focus of this grant is to further the culture of data driven decision making in Michigan's schools by providing a quality professional development model and dynamic inquiry tool.
The Center for Educational Performance Information (CEPI) makes available free and reduced lunch counts for current and past years. This section of our web site links to the State of Michigan maintained web site and is provided for ease of use. Questions with regard to the data may be directed to CEPI.

Educational Project for Homeless Youth (EPHY):
is a program of the WISD operating on grant funds from federal McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act awarded through the Michigan Department of Education. EPHY has been serving the 10 school districts in Washtenaw County since 1987. EPHY's primary goal is to help homeless children and youth enroll, regularly attend and succeed in school. We provide assistance with 'proof of residency' issues, enrollment documents, transportation, school supplies, advocacy, one-on-one tutoring and referrals to community agencies.

MSRP helps children get ready for school, increases attendance and reduces the number of children who repeat a grade by almost one-half. The programs provide strong family involvement/ parent education components as well as preschool education.

Teens aging out of foster care struggle to make the transition to independent living and
are particularly vulnerable to under-education, unemployment, earnings below the poverty level,

Washtenaw International High School is a free, public, consortium high school for students in participating Washtenaw County school districts.
WAY Washtenaw is a county pilot program designed to provide a technology-rich, online, project-based learning environment for students who are enrolled in the program. This year-round educational program is targeting students who are 16-19 years old and are at risk of not graduating with their cohort. The pilot program will begin in the Fall of 2010 and will be carefully evaluated for effectiveness.

The HSCC fulfills a state requirement that each Michigan community have in place a Multi-Purpose Collaborative Body (MPCB). The HSCC evolved from the Washtenaw County Family Services Collaborative Council to provide leadership for policies and funding that affect services for children, families and adults among private and public community institutions.

The role of the WISD teacher consultant is to support the local district with information and services that are not typically available within that district.
On behalf of local school districts, WISD operates transitional classes and educational services for post high school student who are unable to graduate from high school due to the severity of their disability. The goal of the service is to help students learn to live, work and participate in recreation in their community with as much independence as possible. To that end, the services and meeting sites are located though out the county to make them as close to the student's homes as possible.
